After a wonderful Talk about Gerald Brenan, we are going to visit his house in Churriana and his grave at the English Cemetery, next Friday, 15th January
Gerald Brenan lived in Churriana for many years with his American author wife, Gamel Woolsey. Whilst there, they entertained many of the literati of the day, including Ernest Hemingway. At the start of the civil war, they left for England but returned later. His most well known works are :
South from Granada; The Face of Spain and The Spanish Labyrinth.
We will have a coffee break first and then the visit at 11.00 am after which, we will visit the graves of Gerald Brenan and Gamel Woolsey at the English Cemetery in Malaga and then there will be free time in Malaga.
There is always plenty to do in Malaga ! A visit to the Pompidou or Thyssen; the Roman Theatre and Museum; a ride on the Ferris Wheel or maybe a walk along the Port or Lunch and or shopping.
